_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Southern Alabama<\/strong><br \/><span>A regional fuel supplier&#8217;s expansion\u00a0of their distribution facility included\u00a0adding\u00a0a new rail facility to be constructed on a greenfield site.\u00a0 The new inbound\u00a0commodity required the construction of a new rail yard with an 80-tank car unit train capacity.\u00a0 The site is served by CSX and the operational requirements included bi-directional switching for inbound and outbound rail movements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>CivilSmith teamed up with Creative Rail Solutions to assist POND Engineering handle all aspects of the rail design, CSX approval, track specifications, and construction phase services.\u00a0 Coordination and assistance was given to POND during the grading and drainage design phase to confirm that track roadbed grading and culvert crossings met CSX\u2019s specifications for industrial tracks.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bi-directional service to the site was accomplished by the use of wye tracks \u00a0springing from two separate mainline turnouts in CSX\u2019s mainline track.\u00a0 Access\u00a0 to the site required creative alignment design that met CSX\u2019s specifications, provided adequate rail car capacity, and avoided adjacent properties by others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Civil\/Site Design:<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0 POND Engineering<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Track Construction:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 Trac-Works\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243;
